PROFESSOR TOY
Brand strategy, custom illustration, and art direction for Professor Toy — mid-century science nostalgia meets curiosity-driven play. Handed an initial logo and mascot sketch, we gave the Professor personality, voice, and a living system built to flex across seasons and stores.
BUILDING A WORLD OF CURIOUS PLAY
The Sister Brand Challenge
Professor Toy powers its own standalone store and curated toy sections inside every PartyWorks in the Central Valley. Handed a static logo, the assignment was clear: build everything else. Distinct voice, robust strategy, and standalone creative authority.
Giving the Mascot Life
The mascot arrived as a flat graphic. We gave him dynamic energy: mid-century atomic orbits, chalkboards, clipboards, and fossils. A static character became a living ambassador anchoring in-store signage, digital campaigns, and social channels.
Cultural & Seasonal Adaptability
The Professor had to move with the culture — donning a festive sombrero and maracas for Cinco de Mayo as naturally as commanding a chalkboard. An extensible system tailored to local community rhythm while keeping brand recognition instant.
COLOR TOKENS & TYPOGRAPHY HIERARCHY
The visual identity pairs an authentic 8-color retro-scientific palette with BN Danimals — a playful, hand-drawn display typeface with expressive geometry that captures the brand's approachable, curiosity-driven spirit.
